“X Factor” World Premiere Preview

I’m about a week late in getting the ‘X Factor’ World Premiere Preview posted, but in my defense I was sitting in an 100 degree apartment at the time it was released. Posting a video wasn’t really high on my list of priorities that day.

I love the direct dig the first part of the video makes at American Idol, who ended up with a panel of judges who couldn’t give constructive criticism if their lives, or my sanity, depended on it. After having to sit through a season of Randy’s, Steven’s, and Jennifer’s inability to actually be judges, not to mention the junk we were subjected to by The Voice coaches, hearing The X Factor judges put a contestant in their place will be a breath of fresh air.

Even if that air comes from the narrow-minded musical sensibilities of one Simon Cowell. Geez. I really never thought I would miss him. Wonder how long that will last.

From the previews, it looks like Simon won’t be the only one dishing out the pain. It appears that L.A. Reid isn’t going to take any bull from the auditioners either. And if the volatile relationship that Simon and Paula has stays intact, then all the better for us viewers.

If The X Factor lives up to the expectations set up by the preview video, then I think American Idol may really have something to worry about come next season.

So what do you think? Are you looking forward to the premier of The X Factor on September 21? Do you think the judges will give us, the viewers, what neither American Idol nor The Voice could last season? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

am I the ONLY ONE who thought that this commercial was very cheezy?

  2. No, you’re not. It was about as cheesy as you could get. But that was the point of the video, at least for the first part of it.
