American Idol Season 5 finalists Elliott Yamin did a parody of Stevie Wonder’s classic, “I Just Called To Say I Love You” for the website Break.com. The video for it is below.
I played this on the radio show last night. While I thought it was a funny parody, Sir Darryl and frequent caller Michael thought much less of Elliott for doing it. For them, it was bad enough that he took on a Stevie Wonder classic. It was even worse that he did it as a joke. I thought both of them needed to lighten up.
So after you watch the video of the song, vote in the poll. Then leave your thoughts in the comments below.

I know Elliott has met Stevie Wonder on a number of occasions, and has been deeply inspired by him his entire life. Pic of them a couple years ago >> http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l139/cookymomster/SWEY.jpg
Although I can see how someone might feel offended when someone parodies a classic song like this, I think it was done in good taste. The lyrics are very tame and not disrespectful to the song at all.
