So last night was the Summer Finale of the Idol Radio Show. It marked the end of the radio show and website following first The Voice and then America’s Got Talent, with some So You Think You Can Dance thrown in. We will follow TV again when it premieres in January and AGT when it premieres again next Summer. But for now, it’s time for us to move on to the next shows.
The Fall season of the Idol Radio Show will begin next Monday with the Season Premiere of NBC’s The Sing-Off. This previous Christmastime show gets a full Fall order this year, which may spell its doom since it will be airing directly opposite heavyweight Dancing with the Stars on Mondays. The Fall season continues on Wednesday and Thursday of next week with the U.S. Premiere of the hit show, The X Factor, as well as the Fall Premiere of the radio show.
So what does this mean for both the Idol Radio Show website and radio show?
For the website, I will be blogging both The Sing-Off and The X Factor live here on the website. Much like I did with the live blogs of America’s Got Talent, the live blogging of TSO and XF will be about me giving my opinion of the performances and results as they happen. I will not be posting audio or video files of the performances of either show, though our sister-site IdolBlogLive.com will be posting some audition videos and most live performance audio for The X Factor.
The radio show will be much like it was during the American Idol season. For the first part of each show, DJ Slim and I will cover any entertainment news that needs to be discussed, with an emphasis on all the competition shows we cover. For the second part of each show, Slim and I will focus on that night’s America’s Got Talent, discussing and giving our opinions on the auditions, performances, results, etc.
Occasionally throughout the season, I will try to bring someone onto the show to discuss The Sing-Off with me (as I don’t believe DJ Slim will be watching that show, though I may be wrong). I will not be covering Dancing with the Stars on the website or giving it much of any focus on the radio show. However, if something major happens on the show that makes the news, we will talk about it on the radio show and I may post about it, along with giving my opinion on it, on the website.
So join me here on the Idol Radio Show website every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday night as I blog The Sing-Off and The X Factor. And join me and DJ Slim every Wednesday and Thursday night at 11 PM ET / 10 PM CT for the Idol Radio Show broadcast as we talk about entertainment news and that night’s XF show.
And let me know in the comments below how much, if at all, you are looking forward to The Sing-Off and/or The X Factor.
