Idol Radio Show PodcastThe Idol Radio Show podcast for May 16, 2013
Hosted by the Token White Guy and Sir Darryl

A new American Idol winner has been crowned, and Alan, aka the Token White Guy, gets Sir Darryl to admit that the winner is a much better choice than his beloved Burnell Taylor. Alan also reveals how American Idol attempted to discredit him with the winner they crowned tonight. The guys wonder why Mariah Carey needed to lip-sync her performance tonight, and why she didn’t do a better job lip-synching as well. Michael calls in to give his opinion about Mariah’s performance and other items as well.

Darryl asks Alan about Psy’s performance tonight, which elicits a few groans from Alan. Darryl and Alan talk about American Idol shedding the light on the controversy of how all the guys were eliminated so easily, which Darryl attempts to inject race into. Darryl was not impressed with Aretha Franklin’s performance tonight.

Alan needed to take a break tonight, and attempted to play a recent cover performed by Season 11 contestant Eben Franckewitz. Unfortunately, Alan misplaced that file and had to play a recent recording by LMFAO in which they were feeling gassy and bloated (video after the jump).

After the break, the guys talk about six fixes American Idol can make for next season. The guys end the night by giving their predictions for the coronation songs for both Candice and Kree and whether Candice will have success with her first album.

Idol Radio Show PodcastThe Idol Radio Show podcast for May 15, 2013
Hosted by the Token White Guy and Sir Darryl

The American Idol Top 2 took the stage tonight, and Alan, aka the Token White Guy, and Sir Darryl have two completely different opinions about who won.

Tonight’s Idol Radio Show starts off with a reminder that the radio show will continue after American Idol ends. Carrie Underwood is the new voice for Sunday Night Football. Nicki Minaj is reportedly leaving American Idol, but Ryan Seacrest is staying.

Long-time listener Michael called into the show to discuss which judges should leave and which should stay. He also said this season had the worst talent pool ever, something that Darryl and Alan don’t agree with. The guys then talk about whether the American Idol producers or judges made a concerted effort to keep white guys with guitars out of the competition this season, something that Curtis Finch Jr. says happened.

Alan and Darryl talk about the night’s performances, with Alan giving Candice the win in every round. Darryl decides to pretend he took notes about the performances ahead of time when, in reality, he simply wrote down “Kree won all three rounds” after Alan made his proclamation.

Idol Radio Show PodcastThe Idol Radio Show podcast for May 9, 2013
Hosted by the Token White Guy and Sir Darryl

It’s a bad night for Alan, aka the Token White Guy, on tonight’s Idol Radio Show. First, Alan has to deal with an extremely unprofessional Sir Darryl, who didn’t bother to watch the very first part of tonight’s American Idol. Alan then has to activate the Emergency Alert System so he can rant against the part he played in which American Idol contestant went home this week. Alan then levels new charges of discrimination against American Idol and explains why it means that Kree Harrison will win next week.

Alan and Darryl then talk about the news today that Randy Jackson is leaving American Idol. This leads to a conversation about the entire Judges’ Table needing to be cut, followed by a conversation about just how bad, or ok, of a host The Voice‘s Carson Daly is. The guys then try to figure out what the point of Mariah Carey’s new video is (you can watch it after the jump). The guys dish on some news about Jessica Sanchez, Clay Aiken, and Lauren Alaina.

Darryl and Alan spend the last fifteen minutes of the show talking about the America’s Got Talent audition taping that Darryl attended today.

Idol Radio Show PodcastThe Idol Radio Show podcast for May 8, 2013
Hosted by the Token White Guy and Sir Darryl

Alan, aka the Token White Guy, and Sir Darryl are back on the Idol Radio Show after being sick for the past two weeks, which causes the guys to talk about just how much they needed their mommies during that time. Darryl admits, albeit indirectly, just how much the radio show is the backbone of our home network, the All Digital Radio Network. Darryl then overstates Alan’s new age following his birthday today.

Another celebrity has passed away, this time in the form of long-time Young and the Restless cast member Jeanne Cooper. The latest flare-up of the Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj feud is discussed along with the rumors that Mariah threatened not to show up this week. Alan and Darryl then reveal which American Idol contestants they think did the worst, second best, and best tonight. Needless to say, the boys don’t agree.

Idol Radio Show PodcastThe Idol Radio Show podcast for April 18, 2013
Hosted by the Token White Guy and Sir Darryl

Tonight’s Idol Radio Show starts off with Alan, aka the Token White Guy, and Sir Darryl clearly stating that they would not mention who went home during the American Idol results show earlier in the evening. Darryl then reveals that one of their affiliates has been shut down by the FCC and Alan forces Darryl to apologize for saying something untrue the night before.

The two then talk heavily about whether the Judges’ Save is still in play since Ryan Seacrest did not mention tonight that this was the last week to use it. Another sign that the apocalypse is upon us was given to us in the form of a civil conversation between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey after the Top 5 Performance show Wednesday night. Lazaro Arbos levels manipulation charges against American Idol, Clay Aiken doesn’t look like he’s aged 10 years, and Fantasia is still, well, Fantasia.
