Idol Radio Show PodcastThe Idol Radio Show podcast for May 23, 2013
Hosted by the Token White Guy & The Sometimes Genius ChuckRitt

Alan, aka the Token White Guy, is joined tonight by the Sometimes Genius ChuckRitt, who swears he’s brought the genius side of himself today. Alan tests this out by breaking the news that the brothers group Hanson now has their own beer, appropriately called Mmmhops. The guys then talk about the dreadful download numbers for Candice Glover’s and Kree Harrison’s American Idol coronation songs, which leads Alan to suggest how the show should handle coronation songs in the future. Alan asks Chuck his opinion on whether Idol should BET Awards nominations, Alan talks about the hissy fit that Natalie Cole had as a result of the Candice Glover / Jennifer Hudson duet. A couple in York County had an argument about which Idol contestant would win, followed by an argument about who stabbed who first. And the first of what will be many rumors about next season’s Idol judges panel.

Idol Radio Show PodcastThe Idol Radio Show podcast for May 22, 2013
Hosted by the Token White Guy

Alan, aka the Token White Guy, starts off tonight’s Idol Radio Show with his thoughts and condolences to those affected by the tornadoes this week in Moore, Oklahoma. After that, Alan talks about Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough winning Dancing with the Stars (you can watch that moment after the jump). This leads to the reveal that Dancing with the Stars will only have one show a week in the Fall Season, followed by Alan questioning whether American Idol should do the same.

Paris Hilton is releasing a new album, a fact that should make your stomach turn. And Janet Jackson has joined her husband in the billionaires club.

For the rest of the show, Alan talks about all the craziness that happened at the Billboard Music Awards this past Sunday. This includes Chris Brown’s horrific singing, mock fighting on stage (see for yourself after the jump), and kung-fu face. And Nicki Minaj’s lap dance and butt coming backwards through the TV screen. And Miguel taking out two audience members with an ill-advised jump across stages. And Justin Bieber getting booed, loudly, and his statement that he’s not a gimmick and should be taken seriously (video after the jump).

Idol Radio Show PodcastThe Idol Radio Show podcast for May 16, 2013
Hosted by the Token White Guy and Sir Darryl

A new American Idol winner has been crowned, and Alan, aka the Token White Guy, gets Sir Darryl to admit that the winner is a much better choice than his beloved Burnell Taylor. Alan also reveals how American Idol attempted to discredit him with the winner they crowned tonight. The guys wonder why Mariah Carey needed to lip-sync her performance tonight, and why she didn’t do a better job lip-synching as well. Michael calls in to give his opinion about Mariah’s performance and other items as well.

Darryl asks Alan about Psy’s performance tonight, which elicits a few groans from Alan. Darryl and Alan talk about American Idol shedding the light on the controversy of how all the guys were eliminated so easily, which Darryl attempts to inject race into. Darryl was not impressed with Aretha Franklin’s performance tonight.

Alan needed to take a break tonight, and attempted to play a recent cover performed by Season 11 contestant Eben Franckewitz. Unfortunately, Alan misplaced that file and had to play a recent recording by LMFAO in which they were feeling gassy and bloated (video after the jump).

After the break, the guys talk about six fixes American Idol can make for next season. The guys end the night by giving their predictions for the coronation songs for both Candice and Kree and whether Candice will have success with her first album.
