Read my thoughts about tonight’s results show after the jump.
The first group of four to get their results are Frank Miles (he who missed the donut), Avery and the Caclico Hearts (they who gave us a bad chipmunks imitation), Taylor Davis (he who sang the song in the wrong key), and Fatally Unique (they who entertained with an amazing dance routine).
No contest here on who America sent through. Welcome to the Top 20, Fatally Unique. You deserve it.
The second group only consists of two acts: Zuma Zuma (they of amazing pole dancing) and Yellow Designs Stunt Team (they of BMX stunts who had background dancers who took the focus of the performance). While I prefer Zuma Zuma going through, I wouldn’t be overly disappointed with Yellow Designs Stunt Team going instead.
Thankfully, America rightfully put through Zuma Zuma. Now I don’t have to put that last sentence above to the test.
Group three consists of Scott Alexander (he of an underwhelming illusion), Team iLuminate (can’t we just crown them the winners now), and Sam B (the dancer who hasn’t learned that we are laughing at him, not with him). My forehead vein could explode if this doesn’t go the way it should.
Yes. I will never have to watch Sam B dance again. And I will get to watch Team iLuminate again. This is turning out to be a good night.
Wait a minute……….. this means the judges will choose from The Kinetic King (he of the biggest flop ever), Charles Peachock (he of the gratuitous shirt-coming-off), and Melissa Villasenor (the impressionist who needs lessons from Rich Little).
Oh well. With four going through to the Top 20, at least one bad act had to make it through. My preference would be Melissa. She did a really good Sharon Obsourne impression. But if she ever does Owen Wilson again, I will personally escort her off the planet.
Of the remaining three, America sends The Kinetic King directly home. Not a surprise. I’m sure he got some pity votes after last night’s debacle, but I would love to see just how low his voting tally was.
Sharon Osbourne, who Xed the juggler last night, votes for Melissa. Piers Morgan, who liked the juggler more than the impressionist last night, votes for Charles. That means Howie, who also Xed the juggler last night, will be the deciding vote.
And he sends Melissa through.
I’m happy with how tonight turned out. What about you? Vote in the poll at the top of the page and leave your thoughts in the comments below.
